If you’re not currently dating online, fall is when I recommend that singles get on (or back on) the right marriage-minded dating sites. It’s the perfect time to update your dating profile, pictures, and dating plan so you’re ready to meet and date the right people during January’s Online Dating Blitz. Especially if you’re dating for marriage or a serious relationship.
More than 80% of my successfully coupled clients from the last 20+ years have met their partners through online dating sites. So, naturally, the next question is “Which marriage-minded online dating sites/apps/platforms should I try?”
Well, my answer is: “It depends…”
Several platforms have risen to the top among marriage-minded dating sites and apps this past year. But whether or not they are the best for you depends on several things.
Regardless of the ranking, each site has its own distinctions and nuances in how you use it.
- Some singles want to have more control over picking and choosing potential matches; others want to allow the system to provide curated matches.
- Some dating platforms are tailored for a younger, marriage-minded demographic, while other sites work better for those finding love later in life.
- There are niche dating sites specifically created to match singles of similar values, interests, careers, cultures, lifestyles, and goals.
- And there is a wide array of services available to commitment- or marriage-minded singles, depending on how much you are willing to spend.
And the list goes on…
Of course, online dating success also depends on how the site/app is used. A dating platform is only as good as your strategy for using it.
- Are you clear in your profile or settings about your intentions for dating?
- How are your pictures? Did you put in the effort to have updated photos taken?
- Do you have a dating strategy with a plan for correspondence, follow-up, or keeping track of your dates?
- Do you know how to discern if someone is truly a good match for you, or do you talk to anyone who comes along?
And there are a myriad of other considerations that may affect how you feel about a particular dating platform. Even as I rank my top 5 for 2026, it’s not exactly a straight line from 1 to 5.
Here are the top dating apps/sites for marriage-minded singles from 2026.
I just want to note that I’m not getting a penny from any of the dating sites mentioned in this article.
1. Hinge
This dating app has grown tremendously in recent years, becoming one of the most successful dating sites for commitment- and marriage-minded singles. A 2025 Knot.com survey showed that, of singles who met their soon-to-be spouse online, 37% of those met through Hinge.
And I believe it. A majority of my successfully coupled clients met through Hinge as well!
Hinge also tops most lists as the best overall online dating platform, and it is especially popular with the 20- and 30-something seriously searching singles. This might be due in part to its easy onboarding process, which encourages users to answer thoughtful prompts rather than having to write up a creative or witty profile. Pair that with its coaching format, guiding users gently through the process.
2. eHarmony
While eHarmony didn’t rank high on The Knot’s survey, it is most often quoted as being the best site for singles who are looking to get married and don’t want to waste time.
The core of eHarmony’s success is its quiz-based compatibility matching. Instead of scrolling through profiles, eHarmony delivers matches to users based on quiz results. It is especially popular with the 40+ crowd.
3. Match.com
Match is one of the oldest online dating platforms and yet still maintains one of the strongest subscriber rates. It’s best for people who clearly know what they’re looking for in a partner and enjoy the search.
Match suggests profiles, but you can also set your own search criteria and browse the results. Start with basics like age and distance, or use the paid filters to narrow your search by lifestyle and background.
4. Values-based dating platforms
One of the best ways for marriage-minded singles to approach dating sites and platforms is to consider their core relationship values, life goals, lifestyles, and interests and look at niche dating apps/sites that align with those.
I find that dating sites that are specific to a particular religion are especially good for marriage-minded dating. So if you’re a person of faith, this is where online dating can really shine for you. JDate, Muzz, and Christian Mingle have been the top faith-based sites for a few years running.
5. Facebook Dating
Facebook’s exclusive dating platform is the largest truly free online dating option, which makes it an excellent option for our marriage-minded dating sites list.
Singles underestimate the power of their existing relationships when it comes to dating. Your family, friends, friends of friends, all have the potential to connect you with the love of your life. And Facebook is an excellent way to both harness your existing social circle, as well as expand it.
Within my coaching, I like to spend time with my clients looking at past relationships, the ones that got away, and even the friend zone. You’d be surprised by the number of times my clients found that true love was close to them the whole time. And Facebook is often part of that story.
If you’re serious about finding lasting love, now is the time to get on one of these commitment-/marriage-minded dating sites so you’ll be ready for the New Year’s dating blitz.
Will these sites help you find true love?
Possibly, but again… it depends! Your success in meeting your partner has everything to do with how you qualify those you’d like to meet and those who’d like to meet you.
You need to clearly express your relationship values within your dating profiles and clearly state that you’re looking for a spouse/partner as your ultimate goal.
And then, you need to carefully qualify that the people you match with have similar goals. How well you do these things will determine your success.
However, if you stick to your dating strategy and use the right sites for who you are and the kind of person you’re looking for, being on the right marriage-minded dating site can save you lots of time in your search for true love.
I wish you the best in finding true love. And if you need some guidance, let’s talk.
