Valentine’s Day Survival Tips for Singles- Part II

13 February 2011

Valentine’s Day is only 2 days away and this can be a difficult holiday for singles.  In this blog post, I am going to give you some more tips for singles to survive this tough day for many.

One of my tips for singles is to spend the day with those you love and adore you.  This may be a parent or a grandparent.  You can either make them dinner or take them to dinner.  I am sure they would love the attention and the chance to spend time with you.

If you have any children in your life (either yours or someone you are close to), you can take them for a treat such as an ice cream sundae or to a kid friendly restaurant.

You pet(s) gives you unconditional love and hanging out with your dog or cat can be comforting.   You can buy them a doggie treat like a heart shaped dog biscuit or a heart on a string toy for your cat.  They will love your attention.

Another one of my tips for singles is to focus on doing something nice for someone else.  This will make you feel good about yourself and help you not think about being alone.  You can deliver Valentine’s Day baskets to the elderly or poor.  Or you can spend time with a friend in need who is going through a rough time.   Last you can bake a cake for a neighbor and invite them over for dessert and coffee.

So you see, Valentine’s Day is not only about celebrating as a couple as it is about being with loved ones and spreading joy.

Another one of my tips for single is if you live in the DC area, you can find resources at http://www.DCDatingInfo.com that will help you prepare for a happy Valentine’s Day itself.

In my next blog post, I will give you a couple more tips for single in order to thrive during this year’s Valentine’s Day.

Again, what are your plans for Valentine’s Day?   How can you make someone else’s Valentine’s Day wonderful?
