If so, how can you meet an eligible man by attending a wedding?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/motivatedtomarry.com\/stage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Wedding-Cake-Topper-Image.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-768\" title=\"Wedding Cake Topper Image\" src=\"https:\/\/motivatedtomarry.com\/stage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Wedding-Cake-Topper-Image.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a>Wedding season is upon us.\u00a0 Alan and I celebrated our eleventh anniversary last weekend and we had a night away to ourselves at a local resort.\u00a0 When we arrived at the hotel, there was a wedding being set up.\u00a0 It was Saturday, July 20<sup>th<\/sup> and when the elevator opened up- there was the bridal party with the bride!\u00a0 What a sweet reminder of our wedding that day.\u00a0 It was a hot, steamy July day in DC just as ours was eleven years ago.<\/p>\n<p>You may find yourself bombarded with wedding and baby (the royal baby!) news and advertising all around you.\u00a0 You may be invited to several weddings this summer.\u00a0 And it is a very natural thing to think to yourself, \u201cWhat about me? When will I meet an eligible man for dating and it will be my time?\u201d\u00a0 When those thoughts creep in, you have a couple choices in this situation \u2026<\/p>\n<p>First when the wedding (or baby shower) invitation arrives, you can RSVP,\u00a0 \u201cRegretfully I cannot attend\u201d.\u00a0 Depending on how good a friend you are, this could be the end of the friendship.\u00a0 If it is a very close friend, you may even be asked to be a bridesmaid!\u00a0 Thereby you will be compelled to participate fully in the wedding activities.<\/p>\n<p>The second choice you can decide to go and not be happy about it.\u00a0 This makes me think back to my wedding.\u00a0 I had a mix of recently married friends and single friends.\u00a0 Yes, I had a singles table. \u00a0\u00a0I had one single girlfriend who looked miserable the whole time.\u00a0 She just sat at the table and I could tell she was upset.\u00a0 That doesn\u2019t help anyone.\u00a0 I kind of wished she had never come to my wedding.\u00a0 (I still remember it eleven years later)<\/p>\n<p>The last choice is to decide that it was a party and a celebration of life.
