\"\"<\/a>Spring is in the air and you may be looking to get out from the computer and seek out a singles groups\u2019 activity. When you do show up to a singles events to meet eligible people for dating, that takes a lot of guts, especially if you are going by yourself. However, when you walk into the room, you are really not alone. You bring all your too familiar voices that are in your head with you. What are they telling you in your quest to find love?<\/p>\n

How you show up determines how well you connect with people. Many times you may hear negative voices offering you some kind of warning, \u201cOnly losers would come to this event\u201d or \u201cThere are only the rejects here\u201d. Here you are bringing your judgmental or snobby<\/em> gremlins with you.<\/p>\n

Or you may be bringing your fearful<\/em> gremlins with you who may be telling you, \u201cBe careful, the guys here only want one thing!\u201d or,\u201dThe women are going to reject me, so why bother?\u201d. All these negative attitudes won\u2019t serve you to find love and will keep you from really participating and getting to know the people there.<\/p>\n

How about bringing the confident<\/em> you to the event? This is the part of you who knows that you can engage in friendly<\/em> conversation and start building relationships. I encourage my clients to be open<\/em> and to stay curious<\/em> about others. You are just developing connections \u2013 that\u2019s it. Then, over time, if there is interest, then you may decide to explore a possible relationship, if the interest appears to be mutual. Or perhaps a friendship can blossom.<\/p>\n
