There\u2019s daydreaming. There\u2019s dating. And there\u2019s successful<\/em> dating.<\/p>\n

And I\u2019ve seen (and done) all three.<\/p>\n

\"Couple<\/a><\/p>\n

As a dating coach<\/a> for over 17 years, I\u2019ve helped hundreds of singles wake up from their daydreaming and put success into their dating. One after another, these intelligent, accomplished, attractive men and women have found lasting, loving partners and spouses.<\/p>\n

If you were to see my clients in photos, you would see a spectrum of body types, features, and ages.<\/p>\n

What you wouldn\u2019t see is the invisible quality that makes my most successful clients successful.<\/p>\n

Beyond their strong sense of purpose, my clients with the most successful dating stories have one positive trait in common:<\/p>\n

Resilience.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Every one of my successful clients has been willing to try again when things didn\u2019t work out.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Clients come to me with high hopes of meeting \u201cthat special someone\u201d within a couple months of coaching. They\u2019re eager to get out of daydreaming mode, and they\u2019re often not happy with the dating scene\u2026as they have known it.<\/p>\n

Sometimes they find what they\u2019re looking for in that amount of time. But often their searches take them through a couple \u201calmost, not quite\u201d relationships before getting there.<\/p>\n

They don\u2019t always ride off into the sunset with the first person they date.<\/p>\n

But they don\u2019t give up.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

And, of all my clients over the years, it\u2019s the ones who never give up that I admire the most.<\/p>\n

Maybe it\u2019s because I recognize myself in them.<\/p>\n

I turned over every stone in search of \u201cMr. Forever.\u201d And, by the time I turned 40, I was at my wit\u2019s end.<\/p>\n

Here I was, completely motivated to marry<\/a> and have a family, but not finding Mr. Right.<\/p>\n

Oh, I was finding men and dating. But successful dating? It wasn\u2019t happening. The men I kept drawing to myself were the ones who didn\u2019t follow through or weren\u2019t commitment material.<\/p>\n

Was I disappointed each time a new relationship (or just a first date) didn\u2019t work out?<\/p>\n

Absolutely.<\/p>\n

But did I give up? Never!<\/p>\n

Turning 40 is what prompted me to hire a coach. I wanted to understand why I was choosing men who weren’t able to enter into a serious, committed relationship with me.<\/p>\n

Through coaching, I learned more about relationships and, most importantly, how I was in relationship<\/em>. I had blind spots and made assumptions about men. And neither approach was serving me.<\/p>\n

But all the work I did prepared me to find the love of my life.<\/p>\n

Today, as a (happily married) dating and relationship coach, I help my clients refine their search.\u00a0 They learn the necessary skills for finding \u2013 and recognizing \u2013 the right person for them.<\/strong><\/p>\n

My clients eventually do meet that special person. The process can take 3 months, 6 months, a year, or even longer.<\/p>\n

Being resilient, therefore, is critical.<\/p>\n

And part of resilience is learning not to take a “no thank you” personally. Someone not choosing you isn\u2019t rejection. It\u2019s a release of what\u2019s not a good fit so that you can devote your energy to finding one that is.<\/p>\n

Respect the \u201cno thank-you\u2019s\u201d for what they are \u2013 another person knowing what\u2019s right for his\/her life, just as you do for yours.<\/p>\n

When two people do choose one another, it\u2019s truly blissful!<\/p>\n
