Most people I know have been affected by the awful stock market and the current recession.\u00a0 Retirement portfolios have been slammed and we all feel less financially secure.\u00a0 People have been laid off from jobs, and businesses have been down.\u00a0 Be that as it may, you have a choice.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Do you want to be a “Sad Sack” with a frown on your face and look like all is lost?\u00a0 How attractive is that to the opposite sex?\u00a0 Or do you want to be positive about the future and hold the belief that you can bounce back.\u00a0 Most people find that attractive- especially when it\u2019s based on reality instead of just Polyanna optimism.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hopefully, you have taken some steps to secure your future.\u00a0 The stock market will eventually come back.\u00a0 You are being pro-active about your job situation or you are being creative about maintaining and growing your business.\u00a0 We just have to live long enough to see the stock market turn around and prosperity to return.\u00a0 Most of us are tightening our belts.\u00a0 How can you continue to date given your current financial situation?\u00a0<\/p>\n
I know people who have met love partners when they were unemployed.\u00a0\u00a0 They were positive about their future and had a plan in place.\u00a0 One guy was still living at home with his parents at 38!\u00a0 He was starting a business and this helped him save money.\u00a0 His girlfriend understood this.\u00a0 He is now married, owns a house and has a thriving insurance business.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Another girlfriend was unemployed and met a guy (they were both in their late 30\u2019s) who was finishing law school.\u00a0 She did get a new job fairly quickly and he studied for the bar exam.\u00a0 She had a baby and he did the majority of the baby care while studying.\u00a0\u00a0 Both were flexible about their roles and positive about their future.\u00a0<\/p>\n
So how do you want to come across when you are out there meeting men and women to date?\u00a0 Do you want to be like Chicken Little expecting the sky to fall?\u00a0 Or do you want to heed the words of our new President and work to rebuild your future?\u00a0 My dating advice to you is to consider many people you meet will judge you by your attitude and your actions.\u00a0 What do you find attractive?\u00a0\u00a0 Would you consider dating someone unemployed?<\/p>\n
