Do you just see some people as being charming?\u00a0 You\u00a0find yourself responding positively to them and enjoying their company.\u00a0 Do you see yourself as a charming person?\u00a0 How can you be more charming?\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sometimes our lessons come from our children.\u00a0 My 5 month old son is quite the charmer!\u00a0 When we are out or someone comes to visits- he genuinely smiles at people upon their greeting of my son.\u00a0 By smiling at them, he is acknowledging them.\u00a0 He wins them over\u00a0every time! My friend or the waitress says,\u00a0“Hi Baby!” and a big grin appears on my son’s face. \u00a0It makes that person feel so good.\u00a0 He seems to really like people.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Not only am a new mom who likes to brag about my son, I have also observed a\u00a0phenomenon\u00a0<\/span>that\u00a0reminds me how to be charming.\u00a0\u00a0 First, people\u00a0appreciate being acknowledged.\u00a0 Second, do you show genuine interest in another?\u00a0 Do you show by your facial expressions that you enjoy the interaction. Here, a smile and engaging eye contact goes a long way.\u00a0<\/p>\n Have you ever passed a person while walking in your neighborhood and the passerby smiles at you? It’s hard not to smile back\u00a0at that person.\u00a0\u00a0Yes, it’s more than just a smile, it’s creating a connection with that person by looking in their eyes and acknowledging them.\u00a0If you are in conversation, it’s about showing genuine interest in what\u00a0someone is saying. \u00a0<\/p>\n Okay, we don’t want to hold our gaze too long or it’s just gets creepy.\u00a0 Think back\u00a0on who you consider charming.\u00a0 What made them that way to you.\u00a0 I always like to go back to basics.\u00a0 I have observed that many people have difficulty in connecting- they may be shy or nervous about talking to people they don’t know.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n I have a friend who\u00a0at a single events (when I was single myself) he would talk to you and his eyes were darting around the room during the conversation.\u00a0 You felt as though he really wasn’t interested in talking to you and was checking out all the other women in the room!\u00a0 It was very disconcerting\u00a0to\u00a0my friends and me.\u00a0<\/p>\n My relationship advice\u00a0is to\u00a0stay curious about the other person.\u00a0 Hold any judgement about the other person and yourself.\u00a0 Just enjoy the interaction.\u00a0 Don’t go to the place of “I couldn’t see myself dating this person”.\u00a0 You are only engaging in conversation.\u00a0 Nothing more!<\/p>\n So my personal coaching challenge to you is to start being charming in your interactions today!\u00a0 Practice on your friends and relatives.\u00a0 Let me know how it goes!\u00a0 Then try it with your dating interactions.\u00a0\u00a0I bet it will\u00a0make a huge difference!\u00a0<\/p>\n Your relationship coach,<\/p>\n Amy<\/p>\n PS.
