{"id":163,"date":"2010-09-27T07:00:26","date_gmt":"2010-09-27T11:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/motivatedtomarry.com\/stage\/?p=163"},"modified":"2010-09-27T05:39:32","modified_gmt":"2010-09-27T09:39:32","slug":"dating-advice-for-healthy-singles-watch-your-nutrition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/motivatedtomarry.com\/stage\/dating-advice-for-healthy-singles-watch-your-nutrition\/","title":{"rendered":"Dating Advice for Healthy Singles:  Watch your nutrition!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I welcome my guest blogger, Natalie Schneider this week.<\/p>\n<p>When we think about what kind of partner many of us want most of us include healthy &amp; in shape on our list of wants.\u00a0\u00a0 Despite all the work and relationship stresses that we experience in life, eating nutritious foods will help you be healthy and that will have positive long term effects on your life which is also good dating advice.\u00a0 This is what I recommend:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Hydration:<\/strong> Many people go through their day not drinking any water.\u00a0\u00a0 Water is extremely important to the body.\u00a0 Caffeinated beverages do not count as water!\u00a0 <em>Helpful hint<\/em>-Buy a water bottle to keep on your desk at work and fill it up first thing in the morning.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vegetables:<\/strong> Green vegetables are the number one thing missing from the American diet.\u00a0 Greens provide vitamins, minerals and fiber, which give us energy.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There are hundreds of different vegetables available which change seasonally.\u00a0 Try a vegetable that you have not eaten before.\u00a0 If you hate spinach don\u2019t eat it, eat the ones you like.\u00a0 Most vegetables can be cooked in just 5-10 minutes by steaming or boiling.\u00a0\u00a0 <em>Helpful Hint<\/em>&#8211; If you really don\u2019t want to cook, prepared vegetables can be purchased from delis, and grocery stores.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sugar:<\/strong> Sugar gives us temporary energy and then we come crashing down.\u00a0 Too much sugar adds on the pounds and can lead to diabetes. It\u2019s in a lot of our food and we don\u2019t even realize it.\u00a0 There is tons of sugar in breakfast cereals and muffins, frozen dinners and beverages (sodas, ice teas, alcohol).\u00a0 <em>Helpful Hint<\/em>&#8211; Eat natural forms of sugar such as fresh fruit, carrots and sweet potatoes.\u00a0\u00a0 For a healthy alternative to soda try unsweetened coconut water which is super high in potassium.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Whole Grains:<\/strong> Refined white flour sends our blood sugar soaring and then we crash.\u00a0 This is because all the vitamins and fiber have been stripped from the grain.\u00a0 <em>Helpful Hint<\/em>&#8211; Eat whole wheat breads, barley and quinoa.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>When you strive to have healthy nutrition and supporting lifestyle, you will feel better about yourself.\u00a0 This is the best dating advice for women and men I can give!<\/p>\n<p>Natalie Schneider is a health &amp; nutrition coach in the New York City who works with individuals and groups who want to have more energy, lose weight and learn how to eat healthy.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She has given presentations on Sugar Blues and Eating for Energy at health clubs and corporations throughout the New York area.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 More information about Ms. Schneider can be found at: (<a title=\"Natalie Wellness\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nataliewellness.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.nataliewellness.com<\/a>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I welcome my guest blogger, Natalie Schneider this week.
