{"id":132,"date":"2010-05-07T09:06:33","date_gmt":"2010-05-07T13:06:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/motivatedtomarryblog.com\/?p=132"},"modified":"2010-05-07T09:06:33","modified_gmt":"2010-05-07T13:06:33","slug":"coach-amy%e2%80%99s-5-top-internet-dating-profile-writing-mistakes-to-avoid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/motivatedtomarry.com\/stage\/coach-amy%e2%80%99s-5-top-internet-dating-profile-writing-mistakes-to-avoid\/","title":{"rendered":"Coach Amy\u2019s 5 Top Internet Dating Profile Writing Mistakes to Avoid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently <a title=\"Washington Post Article\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2010\/04\/23\/AR2010042300014.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Washington Post<\/a> had an article on how dating online is a better way to meet a serious romantic partner than some other past traditional ways.<\/p>\n<p>My advice for dating includes the participation in online dating as any total dating strategy.\u00a0 I do have some dating tips for men and women on how to improve their profiles and who they attract through online dating.\u00a0 For my one on one coaching clients and my coaching group clients, I review their online dating profiles.\u00a0 I see the same mistakes being made time and time again.<\/p>\n<p>Here is my list of top online dating mistakes and my dating tips for men and women on how to improve their online dating profiles and attract the right person:<\/p>\n<p><em>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Posting bad pictures or no pictures at all. <\/em><br \/>\nIt\u2019s amazing how poor pictures are.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t have to be a glamour shot, just something attractive to show your best features.\u00a0 A smile goes a long way!<\/p>\n<p><em>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sounding too demanding and controlling in tone. <\/em><br \/>\nI read profiles that say \u201cHe must be such and such\u201d or \u201cShe should do such and such\u201d.\u00a0 The person comes across as too demanding and controlling.\u00a0 Try softening your approach to \u201cIt would be great if\u2026.\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 By softening up your tone, you will be more attractive to more people.<\/p>\n<p><em>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Limiting their distance range too much <\/em><br \/>\nI see people put 20 miles in their distance range.\u00a0 What if Mr. Right lived 100 miles away?\u00a0 That\u2019s a 2 hour drive and doable for the weekends.\u00a0 More distance would give you a greater number of candidates.\u00a0 You can weed down from there.\u00a0 Ok, perhaps he lives next door, or not!<\/p>\n<p><em>4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Not being upfront about what they are truly looking for in a relationship.<\/em><br \/>\nIt\u2019s amazing that most people are scared to put they want marriage and kids.\u00a0 If that\u2019s what you are looking for- then say it!\u00a0 By putting friends, companion, exclusive relationship, you are attracting people who have different relationship goals from you.\u00a0 Take a stand for what you want and it will work for you!<\/p>\n<p><em>5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Not writing in full sentences, typos and poor grammar.<br \/>\n<\/em>Yes, in this txt world we are all guilty of this!\u00a0 Show you are educated and know how to write!\u00a0 Write in full sentences and check your grammar.\u00a0 Also when writing your answers, ask yourself the question, \u201cSo what?\u201d\u00a0 Explain what was special about the trip you took or the book you\u2019ve read.\u00a0 Let them see the real you!<\/p>\n<p>If you implement my advice for dating by polishing your online dating profile, then you will better your chance to attract the right person.\u00a0 For all of my clients I clarify their values and make sure their core relationship values shine through in their online dating profile.\u00a0\u00a0 This has been instrumental for all of my clients who have been successful with meeting someone.\u00a0 They become more confident in their abilities to choose the right people.<\/p>\n<p>Intentionally yours,<\/p>\n<p>Coach Amy<\/p>\n<p>PS.
